Pop Music on British Television 1955 - 1999

Described by TV Times as "Songs with a message, songs with a meaning, songs that care - these are the Songs that Matter."

Broadcast on Sunday, Songs That Matter offered a mixture of traditional and pop gospel with classical and hymns. The first series was hosted by Crossroads' legend Noele Gordon with Cy Grant and occasional pop interruptions. The second series however was hosted by Radio One DJ and Hammer horror actor Mike Raven the show played host to Doris Troy, The Fortunes, Parchment, Springfield Revival and Chris Barber Band with Ottilie Patterson.

ATV's answer to Stars on Sunday seems to been forgotten about.
